To bring healing and a connection to Spirit through energy and drumming.
Mary Oliver is a trained facilitator for HealthRHYTHMS and is a Village Music Circles' Drum Circle Facilitator graduate. She has a background in education, having spent more than 30 years teaching visual and performing arts in Kentucky. After retiring from her teaching position, she relocated to Austin, TX and is now focused on her passion for using the arts, especially drumming, as a tool for nurturing others toward self-expression, spirituality, and wellness.
Mary is a certified Reiki practitioner and an instrument maker, making percussion instruments from gourds. She teaches art to adults with disabilities and works from time to time as an arts instructor for Art Spark Texas. She has worked with Natural Lifemanship since 2017, assisting them in expanding the use of rhythm, movement, and drumming into their model of Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy - all scientifically-based tools helpful in regulating and integrating the brain and building connected relationships. Mary has also started incorporating sound healing in her work and has found it to be very beneficial in reducing stress and calming the nervous system.
