Mary Oliver is a certified facilitator for HealthRHYTHMS, Rhythm2Recovery, Beat the Odds, and is a Village Music Circles' Drum Circle Facilitator graduate. She has a background in education, having spent more than 30 years teaching visual and performing arts in Kentucky. After retiring from her teaching position, she relocated to Austin, TX and is now focused on her passion for using the arts, especially drumming, as a tool for nurturing others toward self-expression, community building, connection, spirituality, and wellness.

Mary is a Reiki practitioner, a Shamanic practitioner / teacher and an instrument maker. She is currently studying with Sandra Ingerman in her 2-year shamanic teacher training. Mary teaches art and facilitates drumming to elders, adults with disabilities, and veterans - working as a teaching artist for Art Spark Texas. She has worked with Natural Lifemanship since 2017, assisting them in expanding the use of rhythm, movement, and drumming into their model of Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Services - all scientifically-based tools helpful in regulating and integrating the brain and building connected relationships. Mary is also a facilitator for sound healing using many instruments such as gongs, crystal bowls, bells, chimes and Native Flute to assist with reducing stress and calming the nervous system. She has done sound healing training with Sound Healing Academy and has studied with various teachers over several years.

In addition to facilitating group drumming and sound healing events, making instruments, teaching art classes, and providing individual energy healing sessions with clients, Mary also teaches classes on shamanic journeying and drum and rattle making. Events for these classes will be added to the website soon.
